What qualities do you require?
► Patience and understanding
► Non-judgmental attitude
► Sense of humour
► Good standard of literacy
► Genuine desire to assist other adults
What commitment is required of you?
► Completion of a Certificate In Adult Literacy Tutoring (CALT) - Level 5
► Provision of at least one hour of tutoring each week (plus preparation and travel time)
► A commitment of two years tutoring with ARAS upon completion of tutor training
► Attendance at a minimum of three professional development workshops a year after completion of training
► Preparation of 3-monthly reports on student’s progress (completed together with student)
